Williams finishes fifth
Moose Jaw's Jeremy Williams turned in a solid performance on his way to a fifth place finish at the Rendez-Vous Canada 2005 judo tournament this past weekend in Montreal.

Competing in the men's under-55 kilogram division, Williams lost his opening match by yuko (quarter-point) to Jermaine Jarvis of Great Britain before rebounding to win his first 'B' side contest with a late-match ippon over Quebec's Francois Paradis. He was unable to continue his run, though, falling by waza-ari to Danio Pessoa of Quebec in the semifinal.

Williams returns to action this weekend when he travels to Fort Lauderdale, Florida as part of the Canadian contingent competing in the U.S. Open.
