Judo club enjoys commanding performance at Vibank tourney

This weekend the Moose Jaw Koseikan Judo Club brought back more medals than athletes they sent to a tournament.

The Koseikan sent 13 competitors to the Vibank Judo Tournament Saturday and returned with 14 medals.

Rebecca Hanson competed in the Cadet girls -40 kg and finished third and also competed in the Juvenile girls -44 kg class and finished second.

In the Juvenile boys -53 kg Chad Griffin was first and Adam Langdon was third.

The local Cadet girls had a field day. Kimberly Daly won the -23 kg class and Taryn Montgomery won the -30 kg field. Breanne Walz won the -34 kg class and Haley Walz won her class as well.

Eryn Langdon won the -38 kg field leading a Moose Jaw sweep to the podium as Cheyenne Caragata was second and Jessica Daly was third.

Joey Caragata won the Cadet boys -23 kg while Zachary Ryan was second in the -30 kg field. Connor Ryan was third in the +38 kg boys class.
