Eli Hoover temporarily found himself with a good view of the ceiling while working out with Stephanie Legault at a Moose Jaw Koseikan Judo Club practice session Monday. The club, which recently moved to new digs at the Exhibition Grounds, has been busy lately. Seven members journied to a recent tournament in Prince Albert. Five returned with gold medals, one with a bronze and one with a fourth-place finish. The first-place finishers included Meaghen Cullen (unbeaten in the junior girls under-40 kilo category), Leah Jacobson (junior girls under-45 kilo category), Steve Hansen (senior mens advanced green to to black belt under-71 kilo category), Ken Blandford (senior mens advanced green to black belt under-78 kilo category) and Josh Wiens (IJF junior under-21 advanced green to black belt over-86 kilo category). In the junior boys under-35 kilo event, Vince Langevin and Glen Cullen, both of Moose Jaw, battled for third place. Cullen won by a fraction of a point and claimed third in the 16 competitor field. The club, which recently moved from River Street, is now located at pioneer hall on the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds. They're accepting new registrations; for more information, call Jim at 691-0051 or drop by one of the classes. Juniors work out Monday and Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and the adults go Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 10 p.m.
