Strong showing by judo club
Members win five gold medals
Five gold medals highlighted the Moose Jaw Koseikan Judo Club's weekend trip to the Swift Current Open Judo Tournament.

Tiara Dawm led the way with six wins in seven fights and a gold medal in the junior girls' 30-kg (born 1984- plus) category. She was also named best club participant.

"They did great," said club instructor Cliff Wiens.

"Actually, better than I thought. We had some young ones competing in their first tournament, and they surprised me."

The club's other gold medalists included Glen Cullen (junior boy's -34 kg, born 1984-plus), Meaghen Cullen (junior girl's -38 kg, born 1982-83), Ken Blandford (senior men's -78 kg) and Josh Wiens (men's under 21 plus-86 kg).

Hursel McKenna won a silver medal in the junior boy's -30 kg, born 1984-plus category.

Bronze medals went to Danielle Dawm (junior girl's -43 kg, born 1982-83) and Colt Wadstein (junior boy's -34 kg, born 1982-83).

Fourth-place finishers included Vince Langevin (junior boy's -34 kg, born 1984-plus), Brock Polupski (junior boy's -34 kg, born 1984-plus), Steve Hansen (senior men's -71 kg category) and Jim Wiens (senior men's plus 95 kg).
