Local judo club strikes gold
The Moose Jaw Koseikan Judo Club picked up two gold medals and four bronze medals at this weekend's Saskatchewan Open Judo Tournament in Regina.

Josh Wiens took top honors in the junior men over-86 kg category, and Ken Blandford earned a gold in master men 30-39 under 71kg.

Bronze medals went to Leah Jacobson (juvenile women under-52 kg), Meaghen Cullen (juvenile women under-44kg), Matthew Bespalko (juvenile men under-69kg) and Vern MacDonald (master men 30-39 over-86kg).

The club is now accepting new registrations. Classes are held at Pioneer Hall on the Moose Jaw Exhibition Grounds Mondays and Thursdays. Juniors (15-over) go from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and seniors (16-over) from 8:30 to 10 p.m.
