The Moose Jaw Koseikan Judo Club brought home nine medals - six silver and three bronze - from Sunday's provincial juvenile/cadet championships in Regina.Silvers went to Kailey Large (cadet girls under-70 pounds), Tiara Dawm (cadet girls under 80), Vince Langevin (cadet boys under 100), Peter Cave (juvenile men under-43kg), Travis Larsen (juvenile men under-46kg) and Leah Jacobson (juvenile women under-56kg).
Bronze medals were won by Stephanie Legault (cadet girls under-70 pounds), Steven Erickson (juvenille men under-64kg) and Danielle Dawm (juvenille women under-40kg).
Kayd Larsen was fifth in Cadet boys under-90 pounds.
The tournament also included a talent identification section for the 1999 Jeux Canada Games. Tiara Dawm, Cave and Travis Larsen placed first, second and second respectively in their categories.
Meanwhile at the Judo Saskatchewan awards banquet Saturday, club member Nancy Filteau was named female athlete of the year. Steve Hansen was named Saskatchewan's most improved Judoka.
The local group was also nominated for club of the year, which went to the University of Saskatchewan Judo Club
